Club Alfa launched last July 2000, is a free public service support program established by Janssen Pharmaceutica for all end stage renal disease (ESRD), kidney disease and dialysis patients.

It envisioned being a patient's support group, catering to both emotional and psychological needs of all patients with kidney disease in the Philippines. As part of a sustained effort to make renal education available to everyone, Club Alfa offers a wide variety of informative programs for patients, families and healthcare professionals.

Our team, which consists of dedicated, and enthusiastic Product Specialists from Janssen Pharmaceutica, is deeply committed to helping patients and their families cope with the physical and emotional impact of living with chronic renal disease.

The committee organizes periodic talks on medical issues to increase patient awareness and compile educational materials for patients' reference.

Club Alfa now welcomes kidney and cancer patients from various regions to be part of the editorial board as they would need to know the needs of kidney/cancer patients as well as how to reach out to them. This is just one of the many different ways by which you could be part of our team.

1. Membership Card
   Upon enrollment, a membership card will be issued for free. The card can be used to claim their learning modules as well as for other perks that each member is entitled to. Interested persons may enroll in Club Alfa through our respective product specialist.

3. Club Alfa Chronicles
   Club Alfa chronicles is a bi-annual newsletter which provides those on dialysis and their loved ones updates on recent advances in dialysis, diet and nutrition, renal transplantation as well as firsthand accounts from kidney recipients.
   
   

4. Club alfa Loyalty Program
   This recent initiative is a rewards program for Club Alfa Members using EPREX (epoetin alfa). Every time you purchase Eprex you are entitled to one loyalty card coupon. Your pharmacist and/or your doctor will accomplish the back portion of your coupon and acknowledge the purchase of your Eprex. Completion of these coupons will entitle you to one (1) pre-filled syringe of Eprex.
   
   

5. Expanded Rewards Program
   To service our members better we envisioned a program that would help provide free dialysis treatment to loyal Club Alfa members that use Eprex. The raffle period will be from April 15 to October 15, 2002. All club-alfa members are qualified to join the raffle. Each completed loyalty card would entitle the bearer to one (1) raffle coupon. Each raffle coupon would contain the patient's name, club alfa member number, Dialysis Center and Nurse. The patient will nominate a nurse partner that provides his/her best nursing care. Raffle coupons drawn on the raffle date will be verified for completeness of information and it's validity by the committee.
