Paracetamol

Description
Infants' TYLENOL^TM Suspension Drops are alcohol-free, grape-flavored and purple in color. Each 0.8 ml (one calibrated dropperful) contains 80mg acetaminophen. Children's TYLENOL^TM Suspension liquid is alcohol -free, bubble gum flavored. Each 5ml contains 160 mg of paracetamol.

Actions
Paracetamol is a clinically proven analgesic/antipyretic. Paracetamol produces analgesia by elevation of the pain threshold and antipyresis through action on the hypothalamic heat regulating center. Paracetamol is equal to aspirin in analgesic and antipyretic effectiveness and it is unlikely to produce many of the side effects associated with aspirin and aspirin containing products.

Indications
Children's Tylenol^TM Suspension Liquid and Suspension drops are designed for treatment of infants and children with conditions requiring temporary relief of fever and discomfort due to colds and "flu" and of simple pain and discomfort due to teething, immunizations and tonsillectomy.

Precautions
If a rare sensitivity reaction occurs, the drug should be stopped.

Usual Dosage
All dosages may be repeated every 4 hours, but not more than 5 times daily. Administer to children under 2 years only on the advice of a physician.

Children's Tylenol^TM Suspension: (special cup for measuring dosage is provided)

4-11 months: one half teaspoon.
12-23 months: three-quarters teaspoon
2-3 years: one teaspoon.
4-5 years: one and one-half teaspoons
6-8 years: 2 teaspoons
9-10 years: two and one-half teaspoons
11-12 years: three teaspoons

Children's Tylenol^TM Drops and Suspension drops

0-3 months: 0.4 ml.
4-11 months: 0.8 ml.
12-23 months: 1.2 ml.
2-3 years: 1.6 ml.
4-5 years: 2.4 ml.

Warning
Keep this and all medication out of reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, contact a physician or poison control center immediately. Consult your physician if fever persists for more than 3 days or if pain continues for more than 5 days. Store at room temperature.
