What is Club Alfa?

Club Alfa is a free public service support program established by Janssen Pharmaceutica for all end-stage renal disease (ESRD), kidney disease, dialysis and cancer patients. It is an advocate for patients with renal failure and cancer and also those who support them. Club Alfa offers an extensive education program that is designed to meet a variety of specific needs for counseling and support for patients of every age.

As part of a sustained effort to make renal and cancer education available to everyone who chooses to learn more about their disease, Club Alfa offers a wide variety of informative programs for patients, families and health care professionals.

Our team is deeply committed to helping patients and their families cope with the physical and emotional impact of living with these chronic diseases. Through patient fora and educational programs, we provide a forum for the patients and their family members to share their feelings and discuss their concerns.

OBJECTIVES

Club Alfa is envisioned to be of help to kidney and cancer patients who need support with their emotional and psychological needs.

Club Alfa is a nonprofit organization. It aims to increase public awareness and understanding of kidney-related diseases and cancer by conducting broad-based education programs for patients and medical practitioners. It also aims to improve patient services by helping patients identify their specific needs. Members are also encouraged to comment on public issues relevant to their condition.

Club Alfa is supported by committed and enthusiastic product specialists from Janssen Pharmaceutica. They help organize activities such as outings to places of interests and provide peer support to new kidney patients and their families. The committee also organizes periodic talks on medical issues to increase patients' awareness, and compile educational materials for patients' reference.

Club Alfa welcomes cancer and kidney patients from various centers to be part of the editorial board. There are simply many different ways by which you could be a part of this wonderful team.
